A reminder to all the “You’re not going to agree with a candidate on every issue” Blue Zombies out there. Human rights are not a policy disagreement. The tax code is a policy disagreement. Remember that next time you treat the Palestinian and transgender communities as disposable human beings.

I’m a Texan trans kid who almost died because of Ken Paxton. The world should know what he’s done.

This was very difficult for me to write, but given what's at stake, I cannot bear to stay silent about what I went through at Paxton's hands.

He must not be rewarded for what he's done to trans kids.

Regardless of Talarico’s recent statements on trans people, Paxton cannot be rewarded for the extreme suffering he’s inflicted on me and tens of thousands of Texan trans kids.

Lily Wachowski is so cool.

Most celebrities use high profile interviews to be like "it was such a pleasure to work with so and so on such and such" and she's like "JK Rowling funds trans genocide and Elon Musk is a fascist misrepresenting my work to destroy the planet"

Let her make more movies.

One of the tricks that has been played on us is convincing folks there's always a "reasonable, moderate" stance in every debate.

But actually, when the question is "does someone have rights or not" there is no moderate position between those two beliefs.

On 9/11, I walked into the small disability rights law firm I had just started an entry level position with, whistling & grinning ear to ear as I had just had the best love making I'd ever experienced with the most attractive human I'd ever seen, unaware of the news & forever becoming that asshole.

I'm a white Arab American. Most ppl would never know that's my background by looking at me. The day after 9/11, family friends, who did not know, where at the house and openly talking about how all Arabs and Muslims in the US should be rounded up into camps. I was 12 years old. We were never united.
This is the "Charlie Brown had hoes" of the center now.

You didn't experience this. It didn't happen. This wasn't real.
But that feeling of a shared bond among all Americans in the early weeks after the attack is something I’m so glad I got to experience. Because it’s the thing that I think we’re missing the most today.

This is so real.

The shit people would say to my white mother was so heinous that she cut off multiple friendships within days of the attacks. A lot of people asking if my dad knew the hijackers or about The Plan.

Oh, and my mom thought he’d died in the towers while being asked all of this.

Know that this country did not come together after 9/11.

They went after every brown skinned person they could. Americans didn't know the difference between a Arab and a Sikh. We perpetrated and tolerated violence and misinformation on these people.
