Close enough: Baked into JavaScript at build time which isn’t really better, it’s the modern version of hard coded sensitive data into HTML. I’m guessing it’s vibe coded or done by a college student
They’re hard coded into the HTML because the last time that anyone with money in Silicon Valley actually touched code was 2002
Here are all 113 alleged members we were able to successfully extract. This data can also be verified via versions of the site captured by the Wayback Machine, even if it doesn't properly render the website.

this graduation speech moment is notable, and her amazed shock at having failed to read the room feels instructive.

when you're inside the bubble, you think everybody else is. but everybody isn't.

Aside from how funny it is to pick Sydney Sweeney as an example, my favorite line from the article has gotta be:

"Their supply chains run on the principles of corruption and inefficiency that are the communist hallmark."
"what do they have?"

What's the charge? Serving a meal? A succulent Chinese meal?
A young man from Sichuan, China goes to "Skid Row" in Los Angeles to feed the homeless. Ends up getting arrested.

I'm fine with this. Morrowind doesn't need a remake the original is ebtte than it ever was with a mod scene that's still super active. Tamriel Rebuilt is probably the most impressive mod for any game ever made

"Go back and play Morrowind and tell me that’s the game you want to play again," said Bruce Nesmith, who worked for Bethesda for over 17 years, adding that playing The Elder Scrolls 3 "would not stand the test of time." https://bit.ly/4q4GoKh

badass
I’m old and have a lot less at stake than many people. If I get arrested, I won’t lose my pension. If I get shot, I’ll lose 10-20 years of arthritis getting worse and worse. I have no reason not to rouse a little rabble.

it is the better option, though
Seeing a surge in "pro-China" sentiment following the increasing open distrust of the US. It's bordering on Sinotopian in the other place.

Sadly, this isn't a pendulum or seesaw dichotomy; China isn't a better option just because the US looks worse.

Please, adjust your metaphors accordingly:

My dad took me to see the lion king in a tiny theatre. Aside from us there was only a father and his daughter. When the movie ended it turned out the staff had left while the movie was playing, locked the door and had forgotten the time so we had to use the fire exit to leave
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

UNTIL IT’S DONE, Ep. 4: Sylvia Rivera

In the 1970s, queer New Yorkers had been pushed to the margins of NYC. Our trans neighbors faced immense cruelty. But in Sylvia Rivera, they found a champion.

As we combat Trump’s politics of darkness, her legacy can light the path forward.

Netanyahu said that an Iranian nuclear strike on Israel would be like “10,000 tons of TNT falling on a country the size of New Jersey (22,610 km2).”

Israel has dropped 200,000 tonnes of explosives on Gaza (365 km2) - the equivalent of 20 nukes on 1.6% the size of New Jersey.
