This is the exact phenomenon that creates the sense of “conspicuous missingness” (at least for those sensitive to these things) that I talk about in regards to the video games scene in my video What Is the Games Industry Missing? youtu.be/9JbfFYUVR-U?...

This was always going to be one of my top days out on this trip. I spent five hours at the Tower of London today and it absolutely ruled. There are towers. There are friendly ravens. There are horrific instruments of torture

I will be in disbelief about this for a long time. Forever, perhaps
There were MANY highlights this weekend, but one of my favorites was teaching @pixeladay.bsky.social about how northern swedes say "yes".

Absolutely perfect day at Stockholm’s open air museum & zoo. These photos do not even include the time the bear walked right over to me and @pimscrypt.bsky.social and did a massive dump

I just finished Donna Tartt’s The Secret History and perhaps my pettiest gripe is that one of the main characters has a padlocked closet and the protagonist is like, huh, that’s weird, and then we never come back to it again. This is a mystery novel. It’s not even an interesting red herring

YAY FROGS
Today we launched Ribbit — An Anagram game where you'll find every word — live to everyone!

Letters are only linked if they're used in a word. As you find words, the grid prunes itself. By the end, there's just one word left. Then frogs sing to you.

This is how I feel when teachers pronounce that a student’s work is AI because it lacks specificity. I mean maybe, but also, it’s such a common human error that in Year 11 we gifted our English teacher a stamp saying “BE MORE SPECIFIC” so she wouldn’t have to keep writing it on everyone’s papers
Please do not try to clock “balanced list of threes” as an AI tell because that’s been classic rhetorical structure for going on three millennia and it’s baked into all our writing now, I‘m begging people to read more old things

👏👏👏
this graduation speech moment is notable, and her amazed shock at having failed to read the room feels instructive.

when you're inside the bubble, you think everybody else is. but everybody isn't.
