The colours here are interesting.The sunlight keeps changing the way it looks, which is why I NEVER work from photographs.. It would be so flat compared to the effects of the sun, the wind, the clouds, the shadows. All I can say is that I look and I find the colours by looking.

Call me Cassandra, but if you make thousands of HEI staff either compulsorily or 'voluntarily' redundant and create conditions in which senior staff take early retirement in an attempt to save more junior colleagues' careers without significant new hiring, a critical loss is exactly what happens.

Hardly noticed but at the end of last week the Government vision for archives in England was launched. No money attached as far as I know. Aim is for archives to be 'at the heart of society' through being accessible, inclusive and sustainable
