When I was a kid, I loved drawing. A couple of years ago I picked it up again. The thing about art is no matter how good you get, there's always a million people better than you, but that's no excuse to not be proud of what you've accomplished.

In college I did a workshop with a professor who didn’t let us write sci-fi or fantasy. Not because she thought less of them, but because the writing and class discussion would get bogged down in things like the logistics of time travel or elf lore rather than focusing on what makes a story work
