Strong agree - I completely reject the idea that only winnable fights are worth having. Whether you're putting down a marker for the next guy, or just howling at the evil and refusing to make things any easier for the bad guys there's always a reason to take on a righteous fight.
There's a principle that's become embedded in the culture of the US, and it's toxic. It's basically this: it's stupid and even wrong to have a fight you know you cannot win.

It seems pretty clear now that the people who run America, it’s government and institutions, largely don’t actually believe in or much care for things that they are in charge of, and don’t care for liberal democracy or a functioning society, but a whole whole lot of the rest of us do care.
