Why are Indigenous people now being subjected to levels of overt hostility and racism unseen in decades? One chief recently told me he was denied entry into a store for being “Indian”.

Does anyone know anything about Typewire? Like who’s behind it? I’m interested in an email service based in Canada, and this is based in Vancouver BC - so even closer to home. But it’s also important to me to support businesses that are values aligned and I can’t find any info on the people […]

Our DoggoBike got an upgrade today… a spill proof water bowl!
Keisha has been coming with me on more errands recently. I bring a water bottle + bowl, but have been wondering if she might like to have access to water in between stops.
We were back in Sidney today […]

I’m looking for a service that will take an RSS feed from my blog and crosspost it to this Mastodon account (so I don’t have to manually copy posts here).
Any recommendations?
MastoFeed looks interesting, but I’d love to hear from someone who’s familiar with it.
Boosts appreciated. Thank you!

#Climatechange is here, the story was being told and it went from a "what if" thriller in the 90s to a horror story now 30 years later. It is so much worse than the timelines predicted.
Remember the huge wildfire summers of the 90s where communities were routinely evacuated ahead of unstoppable wildfires and we spent our summers worrying about smoke?

Me either.

Motorists act like people who hate cars never drove or used them. Often the opposite. We hate car dominance because we lost a lot of time in cars and we've realized there was never any freedom behind the windshield and that true freedom is outside. We seem crazy because we escaped the matrix.
I'm somewhat an example of this. I was not an urbanist. Didn't care about city transportation, and had a background in farming where my vehicle was a large truck.

Arriving in the Netherlands changed me unexpectedly. I saw what cities could be and that car dominance didn't help us, it hurt us.
"Gentle advocacy believes lasting change is more likely to emerge from inspiration than indignation.

People are more willing to embrace a new future when they clearly see themselves in it.

And showing what's possible is more effective than endlessly cataloguing what's wrong."
