Chiefs receivers have 16 contested catches since the start of 2025.

That is 12 fewer than the Bucs with the 2nd fewest per @ftnfantasy.com.

dunno what you're supposed to do as an offense when your star OT is getting blown up by a 190-pound corner

Notable backfield snap share splits in Week 8, 2026:

Jonah Coleman📈
Mike Washington📈
Tyler Allgeier📈
Elijah Mitchell📈
Ashton Jeanty📉
J.K. Dobbins📉

I expect it's going to become clear quickly that most of Ashton Jeanty's rushing problems are really Raiders offense problems when Mike Washington sees similarly low yards before contact numbers the next few weeks.

But IDK how Klint Kubiak will react to that. He made Ken Walker a part-time player.
New column on the Week 8 craziness:

- The Ravens facing an uncertain future with Lamar Jackson
- Comeback wins by the Broncos and Cardinals
- The Bucs winning with no pass game
- Curious usage for Jonathan Taylor and Ashton Jeanty

Sizing up wild NFL Week 8: Lamar Jackson's injury, Bucs' win, Cowboys' collapse
Lamar Jackson's return lasted one snap, the Cardinals upset the Cowboys with their QB2 and RB2, and the Buccaneers won by 16 despite 0 passing yards.

A quarterback injury submarining your trade is bad result but not necessarily bad process, the same as it was with Daniel Jones and Sauce Gardner last year.

The Quenton Nelson trade will also look a lot worse if Sam Darnold gets injured.
contract yada yada but the Ravens gave up more for Cam Jurgens than the Seahawks did for Quenton Nelson

Especially now that Lamar Jackson is on IR, I think the Bengals should trade for Jonathan Taylor
Chase Brown played 71% of snaps in Week 8 and handled 63% of Cincinnati's rush attempts, his second-highest share of the season. He also saw a 19% target share, marking the sixth time this year he's hit 16%. He recorded his first run of 10+ yards since Week 3.

I think of a different way to look at Bo Nix's air yards every few weeks, and this gave me the idea to calculate catchable air yards per attempt since Nix throws so many performative deep balls to inflate his aDOT.

Nix is 3rd lowest ahead of only Aaron Rodgers and Shedeur.

I don't personally believe the Ravens are a cursed franchise.

But I wouldn't blame Lamar Jackson if he believed the Ravens are a cursed franchise, which I think is a relevant concern since his contract is set to expire after the 2027 season and includes a no-tag clause.

Alas, the Jacksonville Jaguars will not ascend to No. 1 in DVOA for the first time ever. They are still behind the San Francisco 49ers.

When have the Jaguars been No. 2?

Much of this season (behind 49ers)
Week 1 2023
Week 5 2017
Nearly all of 1999 (behind Rams)

The Broncos 4th quarter and OT point differential splits:

In Denver: +25
On the road: +3

Is this a coincidence? Or is there some truth to opponents becoming more fatigued later in games in the altitude at Mile High?
Broncos have outscored opponents 73-45 in fourth quarters and overtime this season.

Does Kyler Murry have actual hamstring tightness, or is this the mid-foot sprain of hamstring tightnesses?
November 2, 2026 at 3:55 AM
Jalen Hurts and Tanner McKee have the 2nd worst and 4th worst passing success rates in the league this season.

The Eagles offense might be down too many players for any quarterback to have a real chance.

Chig Okonkwo just made an incredible one-handed catch.

I think he is left-handed, but still.

The Chargers have good players on offense, but they don't have any good offensive phase pairs.

You need a good RB and good run-blocking to run the ball effectively. You need a good QB and good pass pro or a good QB and a good contested catch WR to pass effectively.

They don't have a complete set.
I think the main problem with the Chargers is that they don't have any good players. All of their players are bad. It's hard for a team to be good when this is the case.

Half of me agrees with you. But the other half notes that Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson have been fantastic as their offenses have pivoted into more under center with play-action.

I think scheme sensitivity might say something about whether your quarterback really is a franchise quarterback.
Maybe play the style your franchise QB prefers 🤔 🤷
