Feathers rest in a quiet pause above the water.
Reflections drift softly beneath the stillness.
The moment holds itself without effort.
Nature leans in with a gentle breath.
Its calm reflects within you.

Towering blue-grey clouds gather overhead while hidden sunlight turns their edges to gold. A window of clear sky glows beneath them, filled with soft rays and fading light. The scene captures a fleeting moment when darkness and brightness share the same sky.

Rooted firmly, not broken but bent by crosswinds, we reach our light, thriving.

Morro Rock seen from a rocky point at Morro Bay, California.

#EastCoastKin #MorroRock #MorroBay #Rocks #WestCoastKin #Hiking
A rocky hill is in the foreground covering about half of the frame. The rocks are medium-sized and greenish-brown vegetation grows between and around the rocks. The view atop the rock hill across Morro Bay, shows Morro Rock, a very large rounded volcanic plug arising from the land/ocean, standing alone with only the ocean and beach surrounding it. In the center of the image there are three faint smoke stacks, another landmark of Morro Bay.

Good morning, today’s #BirdOfTheDay theme is #InFlight, birds in flight. The alt is #BlurBirds, blurry bird shots. The blurrier and funnier the better. We’ve all got them so don’t be shy. Should be a good laugh. Will post an alt later. 😁

#birds #photography #ECK
A pied wagtail is captured in mid-flight just above a patch of tall grass and thistles in a green meadow. Its black, white and grey plumage contrasts against the soft, blurred background, while its long tail feathers fan out behind it. The image conveys a sense of speed and agility as the bird glides low over the vegetation in natural evening light.

The photograph shows a beautiful painted lady butterfly (Vanessa cardui) feeding on nectar from flowering true lavender. The upper side of the wings is patterned in orange and black, with white spots at the dark wing tips. The photograph clearly shows the lighter, intricately patterned underside with its characteristic eye spots.
