Added this magician to the collection when it was on promotion. Didn't have a real use for it until today - repairing/reroofing a galvanised shed. Using self tapping roof screws it automatically (magic!) changes between impact and screwdriver...
Made the job so easy.

Stats to confirm what we already know.
The fields haven't recovered, 2nd cut of silage will be way down on previous years (it won't be ready for a while either!)

When I visiting friends in Germany they had a shopping basket on the back of their bikes.. I thought.. that's handy and so I got one for the cargo bike. All the kids school bags go into it! With a simple click the basket pops out and you can head into a shop to pickup the bits and pieces.

Got the bike back from a good service, new brake pads etc. It's good to go for the school run starting Monday.
Last year, we had a loan from @limerickecargobike.bsky.social for Sep & Oct while we waited for delivery.
Pedalled 2000km since we got it. I expect the same if not more again this year.

Jeeze.. sad news about Dolly Parton. May she rest in peace.

I have a 10km run this weekend. Very much unprepared for it. Just a few slow 5/6km. I have my excuses though.. I'm not a fan of running in the heat/sun so I substituted the runs for ice-cream. I think it was a fair substitution considering the fantastic summer we had.

Total rainfall amounts forecast for the next week vary across the models but sadly they are all consistent in showing very little if any real rainfall for the Southeast where land has soil moisture deficit of up to 91mm. Fodder crisis looms.

First Friday of the month so time for
"Friday night , off we go
Tune the fiddle , strain the bow
Take it handy for the first few sets
Sure there's hardly anyone listening yet

And we're the Joyce country ceili band!"
Thanks Will Leahy @rtegold.bsky.social - it always gets the house dancing!!

Went for a bike ride to a nearby park with the eldest (who earlier this summer cycled first time without stabilisers) and we almost did 3km!
It was the first time she went cycling beyond our house and she was over the moon!!

What a finish in the LGFA final!! It looked like Kerry stole it at the death but the ref had blown for a square ball !

Great finish and congrats to Galway!!

It's a pity there's rain over the bank holiday. I'm glad it isn't a downpour. That kind of rain would just run off the land. Soft rain is what is needed. Hopefully the rain doesn't ruin too many weekended plans while the farmers get some rain (our farm in the west definitely needs it).
Over 100mm of rain to fall between now and Monday afternoon, but out in the Atlantic. Latest high resolution model shows very little rain away from West. Farmers wait for rain in Southeast continues.

After nearly 2 years, I got my road bike, a Rose Pro SL with a 105 groupset, back in action.
It needs a new tape on the handle bars but it is rolling really well and sounds sweet.

Mayo stun Kerry to end 75 years of hurt
Mayo have ended a wait of 75 years to become All-Ireland football champions for the fourth time by beating Kerry 1-20 to 1-17 in the final at Croke Park.

Delighted. Absolutely delighted for Mayo!!!!
They looked down and out in the 1st half to have come back and have won it .

Oh the green and Mayo!!!!
July 26, 2026 at 4:13 PM
To win just once...
I would be delighted if Mayo could do the seemingly impossible task
July 26, 2026 at 3:41 PM
Ireland needed that score - but I can't see them winning today.
Too many mistakes and bad decisions in the first half.
