Added this magician to the collection when it was on promotion. Didn't have a real use for it until today - repairing/reroofing a galvanised shed. Using self tapping roof screws it automatically (magic!) changes between impact and screwdriver...
Made the job so easy.

Stats to confirm what we already know.
The fields haven't recovered, 2nd cut of silage will be way down on previous years (it won't be ready for a while either!)

When I visiting friends in Germany they had a shopping basket on the back of their bikes.. I thought.. that's handy and so I got one for the cargo bike. All the kids school bags go into it! With a simple click the basket pops out and you can head into a shop to pickup the bits and pieces.

Got the bike back from a good service, new brake pads etc. It's good to go for the school run starting Monday.
Last year, we had a loan from @limerickecargobike.bsky.social for Sep & Oct while we waited for delivery.
Pedalled 2000km since we got it. I expect the same if not more again this year.

Well done Mark English!
He made it look easy!!

It was disappointing as a Galway supporter. It wasn't a contest on the day. The winner was clear after 5 mins in the 2nd half.
Limerick were the better team by far on the day, absolutely relentless and so efficient with their scores. Congratulations to the men in green!
We'll be back (hopefully!)

Flight is delayed which isn't all bad.

Listening to Cork Vs Galway semi final.
It's looking good but I've been burnt so many times with Galway over the years.
The forwards are scoring well.

Watching the amazing light show from afar.

Every couple of seconds there's a flash or two.
It's over Amsterdam looking at the weather maps but may make it's way over to us.

We are back in the Netherlands again this year - haven't rented bikes yet because it's just too hot.
It doesn't stop the locals ( young and old ) as they pedal around the place (no hi Viz or helmets) gracefully.
Tomorrow is going to be unpleasant - 38!

The two day window is coming this weekend.
Booked the contractor to cut the meadows this Saturday.. bale them on Sunday.
After walking them today.. the yeild will be up from last year.

Had a lovely time cycling the grand canal Greenway and around Lough Boora yesterday.

Very much a hidden treasure.

Clean bill of health for the cattle.

All are out and on the land doing what they do best.

Eating grass.

We had our annual test on Monday with the reading tomorrow so fingers crossed no reactors - it's a low chance but never zero.
TB seems to fairly rampant at the moment.

Giddy.

Bought a few heifers this weekend to start the clock on the 28 week ANC requirement. They'll be in shed for 2 weeks and I'm hoping the land will be able to take them by then.
Also..
Prices per kg up again YOY. It's not sustainable. Had to go for a mix of AAX, LMX and CHX.

This mornings cycle was a wet and windy one.

Had to firmly sit on the poncho to stop it flying around the place.
It did it's job very well this morning.

* I use the helmet because on certain parts of my commute I just didn't feel safe. I felt adding this (and a motion activated red light on the seat stem) was needed when in traffic. I wanted to 'speak' to the drivers in a language they know.
* 90% of our route is on cycle lanes except two places.

* The riding position is great so you have a great view of things ahead/side
* Backwards view: I've added a wing mirror (Decathlon)
* I've also bought a Lumos ultra smart bike helmet. You control the indicators on the back of the helmet via the LR button I've installed beside the mode selector.

* Some nice storage for bits and pieces (poncho for the really wet days, locks etc.) just under the handle bars.
* The parking mechanism is really easy to use. To park the bike you put your foot on the spring down thingy (bottom of pic) and pull the bike back. It is easy & the bike is v. stable.
March 9, 2026 at 11:44 AM
* Getting kids in and out - is easy. The side door is great for access. Three kids is the max in the front box.
I think with my two - they'll be sitting opposite to each other as the years go by. Right now they are side-by-side. Bags will go on the back carrier as they get bigger.
March 9, 2026 at 11:44 AM
* There are 5 gears. Internal hub, controlled on the right handled bar.
* The gears are fine for most trips. If there were long upward drags with 2 or 3 kids in it.. I think it would struggle. For my route - it is absolutely perfect.
* I cycle on average 50-60k a week and average speed is 19km/h
