ah damn, RIP Margaret Hamilton.

she took safety-critical software engineering seriously, and got people to the moon and back.

Code is considered art for some programmers, but companies doesn't pay for artwork, they pay for outcome and they see more outcome from an LLM than one person. Makes sense www.sicpers.info/2026/10/reas...
Reasons to dislike AI coding
Code as Art I covered this before in Art or tool? If you think of software as artistic output then generated software isn't real because it doesn't have the creative ineffability that's a sign of true...

I really don't care, I'm asking you not an LLM. This post summarizes it well: ohhfishal.net/Posts/claude

I don’t care. If I wanted the feedback of an AI, I would have prompted it myself.

With the LavinMQ 2.10 release I got my PR for negative offsets for streams out github.com/cloudamqp/la.... Streams are persistent and with negative offsets you can get the X latest message in the stream, perfect for reading logs with some history #lavinmq

Consistent Hash Exchange in LavinMQ: I while ago I rewrote the algorithm behind the hashing, it was a really fun task which resulted in better consistency and less memory usage. Read the store about it here : www.cloudamqp.com/blog/jump-vs... #amqp #lavinmq
Difference Between Jump Consistent Hash and Ring Consistent Hash in Practice - CloudAMQP
Consistent hashing keeps messages with the same identifier in the same queue. A closer look at how ring and jump consistent hashing work in practice, and why LavinMQ is moving to jump as the default.

But there's less professional pride, my refactoring muscles are unused and eroding... and yeah, just less pride/care about the code, even if I tell myself I care about the architecture

Best skill I've found so far is `/grill-me` github.com/mattpocock/s... So simple yet so powerful. Help you design your code instead of generating just a lot of code to solve a problem.

Always sad to read people are leaving Emacs, I have too, after 10 years I switched to Helix because it fits my workflow better but still really like Emacs and want it to thrive #emacs #helix

Ironic how Anthropic sells Claude Code security reviews positioned as something v powerful (costing $15-25 per PR review), and being clear they use it on all PRs... then leaking all of Claude Code's code thanks to publishing their sourcemap.

A bunch of talks yesterday name-dropped Lustre which is so surreal, super wild for folks to just be talking about Your Thing ™️ in the middle of a talk.

We're only 18 stars off of 1.9k and I'm desperately trying to get 2k before the end of the year. 🥺👉👈
