This post is making the rounds again for some reason and therefore I feel I must inform you that they’ve hired another one so there are now TWO forensic pathologists working in Iceland.
My favourite fact about Iceland is that we have many, many crime writers but only one forensic pathologist, and he was so busy answering all of their questions that he decided to have a small seminar for writers to get some peace.

there is something definitely ""materialist"" as defining "working class" in terms of education instead of income
i like that their methodology would classify someone making $150k as working class if they don't have a college degree, but someone making 50k who has a college degree isn't.

Actually when disruptive criminals with a history of illegal activity show up to your remembrance celebration, the grown up thing to do is have security escort them out.
Too many people online seem to conflate left politics with being obnoxious and scathing and Mamdani is such a model for combining a principled ideological vision with civility and grace. You shake hands, you act like a grown up even whether others aren’t. You show up.

Reminder that the belief that “brains don’t mature until 25” has been discredited as a misreading of a study with subjects of up to age 25.

A lot of people doing the "it's fine for a politician to say they don't support gender surgery for minors", who don't seem to know that the anti transgender movement is fighting hard to redefine "minor" SPECIFICALLY for trans people as 25 or 30 because "brains don't mature until then" nonsense

Blogging, podcasts, and wikipedia were never considered the equivalent of slop in the pre-AI. They were often low prestige forms of writing with less quality control than big publications, but nobody thought they were thoughtlessly mass produced. They were/are the labors of individual creators.
