Lots of very good points on Pope Leo's diss track, but this is a pretty glaring omission.
Reading the Papal Encyclical again, it strikes me that not only is there no mention of the theft of creative work behind AI - there is no acknowledgement that pre-training data includes people’s creative work at all.

This is an unfortunate omission.

I simply don't get the point of all this effort. Why create an ethically dubious (mildly put) pastiche? To have a fake Moliere? To pump Mistral AI?

In Mario Kart Wii, crashing the game and activating the crash handler will eventually start playing back the contents of the Wii's RAM as sound. Since the data was never intended to be interpreted like this, it ends up sounding like experimental harsh noise music.
