“Both Russian and pro-Trump U.S. actors are amplifying and spreading misinformation about Alberta separatism in the hope of fraying Canadian unity and sowing distrust.”

An overt attack on Canadian sovereignty, meant specifically to manipulate Canadians.

That’s what’s fuelling Alberta separation.
Russia and U.S. amplifying Alberta separatist narratives to stoke division, distrust: report | CBC News
Moscow has long tried to meddle in foreign elections. What's newer is Canada's neighbour overtly trying to influence and fan flames of referendum bid, warns a new report on foreign interference.

The WAR ON WALKING has taken many forms around the world. It’s often as simple as how we signal who space is and isn’t for.

Once our eyes are opened to all the ways we’ve prioritized cars over people, we can’t unsee it.

Fully electric aviation has some major challenges (mostly: batteries are heavy and don't get lighter as they get used up) but I love the idea of decreasing aircraft emissions through a hybrid approach, perhaps as a step toward new, clever solutions for fully electric air transport in the future.
The world’s largest battery-electric aircraft flew for the first time on the 12th of August, a 27-minute test flight over upstate New York that cost about five dollars in electricity. Heart Aerospace’s 30-seat prototype is a big step toward a commercial version. buff.ly/i3f0PhR

To carry 50,000 people per hour in each direction, a city needs a 175m wide road for cars.

Even if those cars are electric.

And then there’s all the parking.

OR a city can move A LOT MORE people in a lot less space, with A LOT LESS public money, emissions, pollution, noise etc.

Choices.

Simple.

US data centers for AI tend to run on more fossil fuels than renewables → they produce proportionally more climate pollution → which is supersizing extreme weather → which is now the #1 risk to data centers themselves.

The very definition of "coming right back around to bite you."
The AI boom is colliding with a new threat: Severe weather
Heatwaves and severe weather are raising risks for AI data centers, from grid strain to higher insurance and repair costs.
