I'm still buying like a sugar girl (my mum's offered to Roman emperor 'remember you do not want to buy two new york cookies with soft serve' me in my ear next time we go to a dessert place) but I'm a salt and protein girl now (sighing mournfully for a samosa, noodles, or more beef tartare post 5pm)

came back from a birthday eve meal with a cake and a chocolate and gifts that are so *me*, to my dad's card, which I always open before my birthday so I don't have to be mad at him on my actual birthday. it's a good system but a very stark contrast.

my dad lands in the uk on 7/7 and flies back to China on 22/7. he's seeing me one of those days, he told my brother he wouldn't have time to fly to Belfast so my brother's flying here to see him on the same day as me, and he's spending all the other days with his fuckass succession-style family, lol

this was great while it lasted but unfortunately I put on weight (who saw THAT coming), and the universe keeps sending signs that I should skip my lunches to walk along the canal instead (stoat sighting, heron sighting, birds, sunshine, the smiths)
last week I had a bowl of honey granola for lunch every day and it was delicious and filling but I felt nutritionally anxious
and on the way home yesterday I did a Pricey Shop
and now I'm eating 500% of my RDA of fat, and having a MARVELLOUS time
