Wax Heads' genre classification system has logic to it, though the game won't tell you what it is. Once you understand how obscure vs. mainstream intersects with decade and mood, the hard customers stop being hard.

I have been loving playing @waxheadsgame.bsky.social so here's my Waxsona teehee
Illustration of a Black person in a record store. There are records surround them in shelves and posters on the wall. They're standing in front of the counter next to the cash register. They have on a red baseball hat with a broken heart in the middle, a green shirt that says GAY in the center, and blue pants. They have a small tote and they wear glasses. The dialogue box next to them says Yeti(name), totally not heartbroken. You guys got the new Mississippi Rattles?

A great example of a game that takes its love and care for art and friends and moulds them into something so much more.
It’s funny, charming, beautiful, and celebrates what truly makes music and community special and unique.
