All American football should be flag. Enough with the tbi. The NFL can adapt.
In July, I went to the NFL Flag Championships in Indiana to see the enormous boom in youth flag football in person. Turns out, girls love ball. My story leads off @bloomberg.com Businessweek’s November issue on women’s sports. Gift link: www.bloomberg.com/news/feature...

A BFD. As people get ready to fill their heating oil tanks for the winter, they learn it will cost 80% more than last year. Your early Christmas Gift from Trump and the Republican Party is that your Christmas present budget will now go to their friends in the oil business.

The right has been gloating that the #MeToo era ended, but we're due for a reckoning that's going to make that look like nothing by comparison.
This is just a relentlessly horrific story.

It’s hard to adequately contextualize the moral desolation of this unfolding in the midst of a midterms against a ruling party helmed by inveterate rapists and rape apologists.

Horrifying: Arizona Democratic congressional candidate Bernadette Greene-Placentia was raped by a man after he knocked her out. Another man approached her to do the same. “She began swinging her foot at him. ‘Not even worth it,’ she heard the man say as he moved away.”

one of the ways the media shows which side they prefer, is which politicians they quote uncharitably out-of-context and which they clean up for even when what they actually say and do is offensive (the Biden story ran on the front page less than a week before the 24 election)

Oh, shit, here we go!
Foreclosures are climbing: the number of homes repossessed surged 42% from a year ago.

Lenders repossessed 5,794 properties out of 40,277 foreclosure filings in August. That’s up 22% from July and 42% from August 2025.

What a legacy, “Polymarket’s LeBron James”.
oh that's why polymarket's lebron james took such a sweetheart deal to join the sixers. it's his side hustle to his main gig, which is working for polymarket.
From @theathletic.com: LeBron James will make nearly four times as much promoting the Polymarket prediction market as he will from playing basketball. The deal may not break NBA rules, but it raises uncomfortable questions.

as a journalist and editor who has worked at several large publications, this policy is insane.
Earlier this week, I agreed to interviews with two USA Today journalists. They wrote fantastic articles about the Cornell case that I'm proud to have been a part of.

What I did not know is that their employer considers interviews to proprietary and opens up recordings to be used by any journalist.

Right there with her. This fawning interview describing Alito as a coalition builder, has a coalition of the most ridiculous justices since the civil war: An owned man, a drunk, a zealot, and another patriarch make his “coalition”. Like leading Orcs to Mordor.
Stabs this whole interview with a copy of The Caliban and The Witch.
Samuel Alito: We won't overturn Obergefell because it's engendered reliance interests.

Jan Crawford: Well, many people had organized their lives around Roe v. Wade.

Alito: No, they didn't. Women merely had an "abstract" interest in "ideas about the kind of society that they were going to live in."

Turns out, it was an Iowa HAWKEYES game in Maryland.
