A fellow graphic designer said that AI posters look like how customers typically ask for their posters to look, before graphic designers show them that posters don't actually need all that text or those graphics and it's stuck with me.

BLS this morning, with revised 2Q data: "The labor share, which is the percentage of output that accrues to workers in the form of compensation, was 52.8 percent in the second quarter of 2026, the lowest level in the series, which begins in the first quarter of 1947."

There are endless studies showing this and also the financial and societal benefits of universal basic income and or housing-first policies but the U.S. never goes for any of it because it would require allowing the poor to receive benefits that the rich consider “undeserved”

One of the great parts about growing up as a Gen Xer was Dolly Parton was EVERYWHERE when we were kids. She was on the radio, showing up on television, in great movies. And no one was ever like "You know who I'm fucking sick of? That Dolly Parton." A glorious time to be alive.
