FB reminded me of this post just yesterday, quoting the man who righteously threw his shoes at George W. Bush, a mass murderer and stain on us all.

Every time I see an American claim that trans people kill their own support, I think about how in the UK, self ID polled majority support until the media attacked it.

When Labour accepted self ID should die, we were told to let them win, it would get better. Now we have a bathroom ban.

Fuck you.
They apparently took all of the wrong lessons from the wildly successful gay rights movement, choosing to be as alienating as possible. I won't be surprised if it ends up like abortion and 20 years from now public opinion is effectively frozen on the issue somewhere around 50/50.

This, right here! Both voting for these Democrats and abstaining from voting for them has significant risks and instead of spending their time yelling at us (and never at the politicians doing transphobia), cis people should maybe grapple with the fact that they've put us in a no-win situation.

It's a day ending in a 'y' and we're back to gender cranks rewriting history again. I came out first in 1989, I've been using appropriate spaces since the 1990s, I had friends who transitioned in the 1970s, April Ashley transitioned in the 50s, there is a very long list

Cis people do not understand how much trans people's rights have regressed in just 5 years.

5 years ago, there were none of these restrictions.

19 states banned legal recognition
21 states have bathroom bans
8 states ban gender marker changes on DLs
25 ban gender affirming care for trans youth

It really hasn't dawned on liberals that for trans people in some races, there is no meaningful difference between who wins. Kansas and North Carolina have Dem governors and they're some of the worst for trans people in the country.

So why bother to vote for a transphobic Dem?
But if I wanted to vote for the option that created the best outcome, and it’s better for Acton to lose, I should vote for Republican Vivek Ramaswamy then, right?

Like that’s the logical conclusion?

This is our reward for being one of the most reliable parts of the base, btw. The second we say “I’m not sure I can support someone who will kill my community even if they’re from this party” it’s like we’re fucking monsters.

Genuinely if you’re still caping for the dems why? Look how they are.
The vitriol directed at me and other members of the trans community for having the audacity to declare our votes are not to be taken for granted.

By cisgender people who otherwise have called themselves allies.

I wish it weren’t so utterly predictable.

I hate that I have to re-up this today. as I detail in this piece, abandoning trans rights is not only immoral, but it's also BAD POLITICS for Dems, as it will turn away their own pro-LGBTQ base without winning over a single new voter: www.bostonreview.net/forum/how-no...

The thing liberals fundamentally don't understand is that trans people are losing rights they already had. We're not asking for more, we're asking not to lose what we already had for decades.

Most sports leagues and the Olympics had inclusion criteria for decades without issue.

As somebody who grew up during the era in which there was a massive public push to reduce teen pregnancy, it’s absolutely wild to me to see people on Fox News now complaining that not enough teens are getting pregnant.
Fox News complains that underage teenage girls aren’t getting pregnant enough:

“The problem is teens and young adults. From ages 15-19, the fertility rate is down 70% in the last 2 decades, which means we are telling people who are young not to have babies.”

This tells me that trans health care in the UK is deliberately governed to keep numbers down and when a clinic caters to the actual needs of its trans patients, then it is attacked by activist journalists and politicians under the smokescreen of 'safety concerns'.
Wales Gender Clinic cancelling surgeries for trans people has made the front page of the Sunday Times and needed three (3) cis journalists to write it.

Oddly, they actually quote trans people (lifted from Reddit)
