Anyway, don't expect the blog's extremely erratic and limited output to change.

(Yes, the Ace cel isn't from the movie)

For those who read the interview, I hope it brightened your day in these trying times.

For the many who didn't click through yet, don't miss out!

I do understand wanting to just get the main gist of things without going through the whole ordeal of learning JP.

For someone who communicates like Dezaki though, I would advise extra scrutiny on the output, if you're going to lean on it at all.

Part of me feels like I'm just putting myself through a lot of unnecessary pain when people were mostly previously content to run things through DeepL etc. and now through some LLM.

Others were already using AI/ML translation tooling with various levels of being open about its involvement back when I was more active with the blog, and as everyone knows it's only more rampant than ever.

I've also personally always had conflicted feelings about the content I put out on the blog -- it was originally just meant to be a personal space for me, which is ironic considering it mostly became unofficial translations I started putting there on a whim.

But that's not why I translated the Ace interview. I'm compelled to mention that my naive hope for all these years has been for these translations to inspire others to dig deeper into JP resources on Dezaki and maybe pick up the torch, because man do I dislike doing translations.

For the Ace movie, I thought at least TMS would acknowledge the day, but alas.

Copying my comments from the other platform:

Considering no one mentioned anything in JP/EN about the movie on [other platform] in the 24 hours prior to publishing the article, I was prepared for no one to care after I hit the button.

Maybe agonizing over minutiae for weeks was worth something.
