This is a well-produced segment. I encourage you to watch so you can hear the noise for yourself. The professor of environmental health science that they interviewed called it an “unprecedented new noise source.”
Neighbors say noise from Michigan data center is 24/7 and upending their lives
One Michigan community has been experiencing the reality of a data center next door for a couple of years now, and they say the sound has changed their lives.

So many important points. He continues: "Long after the AI bubble bursts, we'll be dealing with its catastrophic carbon emissions. The Second Law of Thermodynamics isn't up for debate. Once we sink enough therms into the sea, we are losing the ice-caps."

Agree. I may not like Kaitlyn Collins, but I respect her for what she is doing. The remarks by the current POTUS were beyond the pale. The thing is that is what this event lives into.
The White House Correspondents Dinner should end. At the very least, the president should be barred from entry, forcibly, forever more.

He disgraced it permanently, as was utterly predictable. It was a forum of humiliation; for reporters, for the president and for the republic.

It cannot be saved.

Seriously. The president is lying to you, straight up.

I'm on Bluesky. I realize this is not an audience who credulously accepts anything Trump says. But it is incumbent on honest journalists to call a lie a lie when it is heard, if we are to retain credibility in the face of a Big Lie.

Thank you @neonflag.bsky.social Lindsey Graham can be judged by his actions and inaction. Sexuality and Gender are not for me to judge or criticize. #Thread
As a journalist, I don't give a shit about who is sleeping with whom, as long as consent is obtained and abuse is absent.

But the sotto voce commentary about his sex life is cringe. There are enough reasons to be irritated with Graham.

I concur. Hope I remember to share tomorrow at church with my 2 librarian friends, and when I next go to my @dekalblibrary.bsky.social Tucker/Cofer branch. This library got me into Scalzi in a deeper way. Now we must buy books because they don't always have earlier books. A very enjoyable MUST.
Yup. Gonna hang out with the coolest people on earth: librarians!
Going to the ALA? My wife is there for that right now.

Disappointing election. Our education and solidarity development is weak. Racism and sexism remains rampant. White women in small numbers are starting to organize but are not listening to the black voices in the room likely because we don't join the black led group and do a role there.
Democrats had a 7-pt edge in the primary and couldn't beat two Georgia Supreme Court justices Tuesday. Racism, sexism and ignorance explain it. Basically, a small number of Democratic voters defected, mostly men who could not vote for a woman and whites who would not vote for a Black candidate.

Vote NO on the Elections Omnibus Amendment (AM 47 0199): Too Rushed, Too Risky

The Fifth Circuit just told millions of women that three judges know better than the FDA, their doctors, and 25 years of evidence. They don't.

This restriction on medication abortion is a nationwide abortion restriction, full stop.

I have no intention of letting this stand.

Want you to write, like you do so well, on what you learn.
I'm not arguing this because I hold some brief about third parties. I don't care about parties at all. I simply want a country where our congressional representation bears some resemblance to the political interests of most of a state's voters.

This ruling amounts to a nationwide abortion ban. Mifepristone is safe, full stop. This isn’t about science and protecting women, it’s a calculated plot by Republicans obsessed with controlling the private health care decisions of women in America.
