I also have appreciated @davidcrespo.bsky.social's points of late that capability based critiques of LLMs are just probably not a great tack. it is manifestly true that they can do a lot of stuff. the question is whether the way they do it is worth it/ethical/compatible with human flourishing.

Saw a meme of GenZ baffled by how pre-internet travel worked, and realized we’ve crossed an enshittification threshold where IRL services that once seemed outdated, like travel agents, now seem luxurious: “You meet with a human expert who plans out your whole trip with you” sounds incredible now tbh
You guys are never gonna believe this, but going to a brick-and-mortar running store and getting sized by employees who know what they're doing and can recommend brands and models for you is a WAY better strategy than Googling "Nike running shoes" and buying whatever's on sale
