I think a big theory of Why We Are Where We Are Now is that a lot of people have lost the ability to distinguish between things that are crimes and things that personally annoy them.

I also have appreciated @davidcrespo.bsky.social's points of late that capability based critiques of LLMs are just probably not a great tack. it is manifestly true that they can do a lot of stuff. the question is whether the way they do it is worth it/ethical/compatible with human flourishing.

I don't know if we're setting any weather records today, but we might be setting a record for the most text alerts I've received in one day about weather.
