You can tell my research is cutting edge because the book I just borrowed from the library comes with its own wearable tech.

The USDA is projecting the wheat harvest to be cut by almost half in the US. The state of Kansas is the largest producer of wheat and it is projected to harvest 44% less than from 2025.
The American Farm Bureau sees a continued increase of Chapter 12 bankruptcies from 2025 as well.

I’m genuinely wondering how many elections—in Michigan especially—the Democrats are going to have to lose until they’re willing to be adults and have an adult conversation about how unbelievably racist against Muslims the party is
A great example of how absurd US politics is is that Abdul El Sayed feels compelled to tell random people online to not make fun of Stevens' accent, but an actual elected official who is a Stevens supporter can say that Abdul shouldn't speak Arabic in public and Stevens won't condemn it.
"Cool kids on the Internet. They're doing the cool kid chatter. Some of 'em might be the coastal elites, making fun of how I talk. But let's be real. They're making fun of Michigan. They're thinking they're better than us. Their jokes, their criticism, only make me fight harder."

If you hang out on threads like I do then you see that she posts Islamophobic shit about El-Sayed very regularly. She’s a racist. It’s not even subtle.
I am increasingly worried about the subtle—and maybe not so subtle—Islamophobic undertones of Stevens’ campaign.

From this “local candidate” thing she’s trying to do to Clyburn leaning into the Bible at this rally and telling the crowd to pray for Stevens.
The Stevens campaign's whole insistence that she's more of a Michigander than AES is clearly just racism, especially since the two of them were literally born in the same city.

The fact that VP JD Vance and Richard Grenell went to Romania—on behalf of the Trump Administration— to advocate for Andrew and Tristan Tate, who by all accounts, were rapists running a coercive sex ring, then permitted them to come to Florida, should be a crazy, crazy scandal.

I have edited a lot of sexual-assault-accusation articles, and this one easily clears every veracity check: contemporaneous emails with her therapist, a boyfriend who knew, a woman she warned—all before Platner ran for office. Good on Politico for nailing it, and on Jenny Racicot for speaking up.
Exclusive: Woman who dated Graham Platner says he sexually assaulted her
The Maine Democrat denied the allegations and said, “Any accusation of non-consensual behavior is categorically untrue.”

1000x this. This is the way.

When I've done perf quests in Golang, this is pretty much how: I wrote scripts to grep the assembler phase for any occurrences of allocations. It's correct and it's powerful.

Something like borrow checkers is actually weaker: nothing stops you from tossing in a clone.
In most languages, you hunt allocations down with a profiler and they creep back the moment you touch the hot path.

Jane Street's superset of OCaml lets you flip that around: annotate a function with [@zero_alloc] and the compiler refuses to build if anything in its call tree touches the heap.

One of the most consistent elements of this administration is its contempt for the groups it purports to represent.

“Working class” =/= “asshole”
DOUTHAT: Let's be honest -- the tone of the administration is not consistently a Christian tone. There is a tone of aggressive uncharity

JD VANCE: Tonal arguments are ways of, frankly, policing working class ways of communication, and covering them in elite preferences

In March, I went to watch France and Brazil play a pre-World Cup game—half the game from an on-field VIP club, half from the cheap seats. Today I’ve got an essay out about what live sports are for, which seems like something a lot of us are thinking about right now. www.bloomberg.com/news/feature...

The World Cup is meant to bring people together. This is racism, plain and simple. Shameful.
