If you’re doing patient involvement for a mental health service and you are only listening to people who have been able to use the service, you risk an incomplete picture. You also need to listen to those who needed the service but were excluded from it, unable to access it, or ‘gatekept’ away.

I swear there's a special sort of dread only experienced by MH nursing students when confronted by a need to demonstrate competence in proficiencies entirely alien to professional interest. I'm flat bricking it about an ED shift tomorrow that will see me needing to attempt cannulation...
