If it had not been for the @bikemn.bsky.social adult learn-to-ride course in May, I’d still be at 0km/0mi outside. Right now, I’m just shy of 100mi/161km🥹

It’s a great time to bring that course back for new riders.

A bike planner died on his community’s streets, and I wish that this was a unifying moment for the transpo practitioner community to come together to demand networks of all-ages facilities for people on bikes.

Not ITS or robocars or bulbouts. All-ages bike facilities.

RIP Riley O’Neil.

Last week I was biking downtown and was stopped at a stop light. A car slows to a stop next to me - the driver is already on her phone. She didn't look up once, and was still on her phone when the light turned green and she drove off. Absolutely incredible stuff.
Looking at the driver next to me staring at her phone and wondering whether she'll put it down or not when the light turns green.

1) obv bad air quality due to wildfire smoke.

2) chip sealing on Bryant is causing intersections to be very messy & potential slip/fall hazards for bike/peds. Watch out!

Scenes from a traditional 15 min American city:

Tonight @nissamitchell.com walked to a haircut 2 blocks away, then walked to see a used bike.

The kids & I met her there in the @bunchbike.com .

She decided not to buy the bike, so I hopped in the front & she rode our family of 4 home on 1 bike.

Where would you suggest a cycling newbie look for quality but adorable cycling clothing? I’m still trying to see if I like it so I don’t want to drop $150 on padded shorts or bibs.
