Metrics often obscure more than they reveal, especially when partially completed internal surveys and marginal differences between sub-metrics are treated as problems requiring in-year action plans. The issue isn’t avoiding metrics so much as recognising the limits of quality metrics used in HE.

I know for a fact that it’s awful out there in the scramble for jobs.
There are many graduates (and other employable people) applying continuously for very few jobs. They don’t even get acknowledgments for their applications.
No wonder we’re in a MH crisis.
