Louisiana really is its own country. So when I’m speaking of the South, I’m speaking of Louisiana. We the only state with parishes, napoleonic code, and we’re home to the oldest Black neighborhood in the country. When I say South, I mean Louisiana South. Hope this helps moving forward!

Classic example of why journalists should avoid the passive voice. WHO barred them? What authority if any did that person have to issue such an order? If no real authority, it was just a request backed with an implication of revenge against any who didn't go along. That's not being "barred"...
