A ‘Juice eye view’ of our home planet 🌍

On 28 September, our Juice mission completed a gravity assist flyby of Earth.

As Juice flew just 8640 km above the Indian Ocean, it snapped a series of images with its onboard monitoring cameras, giving us these unique views 👇

A little help from Earth 🌍

On 28 September, our Juice spacecraft flew by Earth, using our planet’s gravity to adjust its course towards Jupiter, increasing its speed by 3.5 km/s while using very little fuel.

Next up: another Earth flyby in 2029, before Jupiter in 2031.

Three years since Juice launched on its journey to Jupiter. 🧪🔭

Arriving in 2031, it will explore the giant planet and its icy ocean moons, seeking to study them as both planetary objects and possible habitats.

☄️ Our #ESAJuice team couldn't wait until February, when they will receive data on #3IATLAS from the mission's science instruments.

So they downloaded just a quarter of an image from its navigation camera to get a surprise sneak preview.
