Did you know that there are different kinds of abbreviations: initialisms & acronyms? Initialisms sound out each letter & are preceded by an article: 'the BBC'. Acronyms are pronounced as one word without an article: 'NATO'. Just don't ask us if it's 'JIF' or 'GIF'! #PrepressTip

If you want to connect sentences clearly, use a conjunction: ‘I’m not going for a walk because it’s tipping it down.'

We all commit the occasional comma splice (joining two complete sentences with a comma, e.g. ‘Thanks for the cake, it’s delicious.’), but it can help to keep the following in mind when it comes to copy-editing.(1/2)

It's been a whirlwind couple weeks, but it's been a pleasure to return to my theatre-kid roots and put on a show (Christmas quiz) for our annual festive lunch. Thank you @prepressprojects.bsky.social for such a lovely day!
December marks our annual Christmas lunch, with this year’s taking place at Murrayshall Country Estate. We had a joyful day of good food and cheer, ending the day with a Christmas quiz.🎄 Thank you to Isabel and Lucy C. for organising and to all our staff for their hard work throughout the year! 🌟

I got to hit the trails with my colleagues this weekend! Feeling very lucky to have such great guides in both editing and exploring.
This weekend, Prepressers got together for another hill walk!
They took a circular woodland route from Macrosty Park in Crieff through the autumn leaves, and the walkers were even treated to a rainbow along the way 🌈.

We had some fun off the clock yesterday and explored the Tay! (It was warmer than it looks).
Yesterday some of our Prepressers took to the Tay for a kayaking tour of Perth!🛶
They paddled from Willowgate right into the city centre, enjoyed spectacular views of Moncreiffe Island and even had time for a dip in the water at sunset.🌇 #PrepressPeople #PrepressOutings
