Despite my own isolation, this rant is 1000% correct.
I've been around to see fandoms rise and see most fall (into the wrong hands) or hold on for dear life (by tolerance). One of the worst are the ones when many that were mainly whimsical came together. Now?
I can't stand it, but I miss the FUN.

This is what I mean when I say that its depressing doing art, writing fics, gposing, ect and getting crickets in response. "Do it because you like it" only goes so far when fandom is supposed to be nerds and creatives supporting each other.
