#orlogsporno Projekt til et aldrig realiseret panserskib med 4 25,4 cm og 6 15 cm kanoner. Deplacement ca. 6.000 tons, topfart 20 knob og en besætning på ca. 450 mand. Mastehøjden måtte maks være 26 meter, da skibet skulle kunne passere under Storstrømsbroen. Udarbejdet af Orlogsværftet i maj 1936.

Fun thread here from a participant of the first Olympias trials, but one of the things that surprised me as I tried it myself in 2024 was that I (at a very Dutch 193cm/6'4) could fit comfortably on the top bench.

Just seen Operation Pedestal described as "disastrous" and that could not be more wrong.
Desperate, bloody and extremely costly in lives and materiel - but it succeeded. Malta was a pain in the arse for the Axis and Pedestal ensured it could continue being so.

My fave Annie Jacobsen claim is that what crashed in Roswell in 1947 was a Nazi-designed flying saucer crewed by Soviet midgets or children who Dr. Mengele had surgically altered to look like aliens, because Stalin wanted to cause a repeat of the Orson Welles' War of the Worlds scare.

The Annie Jacobsen discourse is not new to me. It is not the first case of a popular author publishing an alleged history book with, shall we say, claims that are difficult to substantiate.
