Germany has launched the serial production of more than 5,000 long-range strike drones for Ukraine. The drones will have a range of up to 1,500 km.

Even if CIA Director Ratcliffe flew to Moscow to warn Putin against attacking Europe — so what? Then-CIA Director Burns flew to Moscow in Nov 2021 to warn against invading Ukraine. How’d that go?

This changes nothing for Europe. We must deter Russia now — and arm Ukraine to win.

Fully agree. This smells like infoops. The idea that Putin would use nukes at a point when there isn't even officially a war going on but just a "special operation", is just silly.
Bloomberg sources from Russian government say that Putin is now more likely to use nukes in Ukraine.
Imagine he does. What does it give him? Would Ukraine just surrender? Would sanctions be lifted?
I think those sources are purposefully trying to scare the West into compliance.

Just two weeks ago, the federation also basically said that everything was fine, that there was nothing wrong with Russia returning to the world championships, music and culture.

We must not allow this, because this is exactly how normalization happens, and support [for Ukraine] may decrease.

🇱🇻 Latvia’s PM Andris Kulbergs:

Russia wants to return to the stage again. It wants to normalize itself.

And one of the areas where we are allowing this to happen — and where we need to be very strong in Europe — concerns Russia returning to sport, to the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

This sounds like yet another example of sane-washing Trump. The reality is that for 19 months, he has repeatedly signaled that any moment now he might get tough on Russia and actually help Ukraine — and it still hasn't materialized. Let him explain it instead of finding excuses for him.
The Telegraph: Trump’s stance on licensing Patriot production for Ukraine shifted amid fears PAC-3 Ka-Band seeker tech could reach Russia. Only Germany and Japan hold licenses, and Japan can’t make the seeker.
The Atlantic: Lockheed Martin and Raytheon fear that licensing Patriot production to Ukraine could backfire, as Kyiv may learn to manufacture and improve the systems faster and at a significantly lower cost than current U.S. production lines.

For comparison, Ukraine is asking for 300 Patriot missiles to get through the winter.
🇺🇸🇸🇦 Reuters: In the first 38 days of the war with Iran, Saudi Arabia reportedly fired around 2,400 PAC-3 missiles, or 86% of its stock, leaving 400. The US used 1,500, leaving 850 missiles, or 35% of its regional stockpile.

Exactly. At least in Denmark I've seen too many commentators confidently state that it's got to be an accident because Russia wouldn't dare do such a thing on purpose. Of course they would! Putin is losing a war and that makes people very tolerant of running risks.
Regardless of whether the missile strike on Poland is intentional hybrid warfare or an accident, the effect is likely the same. Russia gets to sow fear and “salami slice” NATO further by observing where our boundaries go below the threshold of a formal war

This is true. Putin will rather run Russia into the ground than stop the war. So that is the trajectory we are on.
VOLKER: We'll never have a peace agreement with Putin. That would require Putin to accept that Ukraine is a sovereign, independent state, that Zelenskyy is legitimate leader, that there's an international border between Russia and Ukraine. Putin will never agree to those things.

-No, this is the line for the pump with no diesel. The line for the pump with no petrol is over there.
In occupied Crimea, drivers are literally pushing their cars to the gas station in hopes of getting fuel. Except, there is no fuel.

KALLAS: Increasing the pressure also means isolating Russia internationally, as Russia bombs cathedrals.

Europe should not roll out red carpet for Russian artists and athletes who support Kremlin's war. Culture and sport should not be tools to whitewash aggression.
