Dark, stormy day equals breaking out this big box. #slint #spiderland
Slint’s “Spiderland” record cover sits atop a thin black shelf. Underneath, the black vinyl record spins on the record player. Slint’s Spiderland box set: on the left is the black box cover with the “Spiderland” cover printed on (a dark photo of a quarry); on the right is the pile of records included in the boxes and the booklet on top that reads “Slint” in yellow font. A photograph of three out of four members of Slint— (from left to right) Todd Brashear, David Pajo, and Britt Walford —standing behind composer Philip Glass, who’s sitting at a table.

Sunday morning listen.

I bought the CD of this version of “Music for 18 Musicians” back in high school, and it was one of the pieces that introduced me to #SteveReich. Was so mesmerized by it, I remember feeling like I was on drugs. I STILL hear something new every time I listen. #vinyl
Steve Reich’s vinyl album cover for “Music for 18 Musicians” sits atop a thin black shelf above the record player. The cover has a blue water ripple in the background with “Music For 18 Musicians Steve Reich” written in the middle. Black vinyl record is spinning on the record player.

So great to have seen the one and only @thetob.bsky.social ! Amazing performance and conversations that followed at Compound Yellow.

Israel murdered Lebanese journalist Amal Khalil.

Killing journalists in a war zone is a war crime, and Israel has been doing it with impunity for years.

The U.S. cannot continue to be complicit in Israel’s crimes against humanity.
