We've had a magpie family living in the school yard behind our house for years. Mum is very attentive to the new chicks & will call by early morning & late afternoon for some meat around this time every year. I usually feed her diced kangaroo but shopping day tomorrow. Unusual to see Dad too.

We have a resident Blue Tongue Lizard (Tiliqua scincoides) in our yard. They are an iconic Australian native species & almost completely harmless but great to eat slugs & snails. It's just emerging from It's winter brumation so is sluggish. The tongue photo is a download to show why it's named thus.
