It's somewhat interesting that there's no real talk yet of a polling bounce, or more importantly lack thereof, in regard to the midterm convention. You'd think it'd be clear if it was or was not happening and that would be getting discussed of course fewer polls in midterms rather than presidentials

First of all, "$2 a pound for ground beef," LOL. Secondly though, I think trying to distract people from high prices by talking about eggs, is just going to bring highlight everything else with high prices.

Tell your children that it wasn't always like this. Ten years ago, it was remarkable for politicians to lie outright. Evasion, deflection, and elision were tools of the trade, but express lies were considered unusual and offensive, and it was rare for anyone to get away with it routinely.
To be quite honest I've been full of doubt as far as how bad things will get even with the Saudi pipeline damage and the Houthi offensive, because so much bad has happened already without cataclysmic predictions coming to bear. I think the coming weeks will be interesting though.
Diesel new highs, China crude making new record premiums vs Brent, backwardation accelerating, tanker rates exploding. All of this suggests the crude market is tightening rapidly because China has stopped relying on strategic draws. Much more impt than the US SPR if it sustains.

Putting aside everything else, SecDef should not be awoken in the middle of the night because one fighter got shot down. This is a routine event in a real war that should be handled by local commanders. If this went to SecDef, it is because no one in command is treating this like a real war.

I once dated a girl, she was 23, who tried to make me mac and cheese and messed it up so badly. Never seen anyone mess something like that up. She poured the noodles in the cold water, turned on the stovetop, and then took it out after 5 minutes without ever boiling the water.

This is Trump trying to weasel out of supporting the Saudis, from the natural result of his own actions. It isn't going to work. The only way to get out of this is to actually make a deal to end it, not try to muddle on with minimum involvement.
Trump: "The Houthis called us. They don't want to fight with us. They let us know they don't want to fight with us. They don't want us to go after them. They would much prefer not having us involved, and they are letting most ships go through. There's just one country they're not too happy with."
