So I really recommand reading this article for its arguments for dominance feminism and the misuse of intersectionality but also for its possible application to understand the discourse

sometimes using explicitly transmisogynistic rhetoric to do so, ignoring that degendering isn’t restricted to transmisogyny.

Similarly, how people argue that other trans people are also affected by transmisogyny, making a false equivalence between being mistakenly targeted by transmisogyny and

trans and women is imperialist (which is not the case, people just say whatever without checking what Third-World trans women actually generally say of this), positing them as wholly different.

Or on the argument of sameness, how TMA is supposedly essentialist because cis WOC are also degendered

class, down to the use of race to make arguments against it, and these arguments ending up positing cis and trans WOC as something other than women by insisting they are too different to be women (and trans).

An example of this is when people claim that claiming that Third-World trans women are

"A 2018 paper estimated that at least one in seven graduates worldwide have used such services."

it's very interesting to me how trans women are always told to shut up if we have a critique of any art that portrays us and that there must be something morally wrong with us for thinking we have the right to critique art in the first place

I thought that was like, one of the most basic and known thing about marginalisation, that caricatures of them are harmful, that they are propaganda and can have signifiant psychological effects on minorities.

But apparently that’s not the case

There is always the thing under all these dismissals, that we *can’t* say it is problematic, regardless of if it is or not. That does not count.
We are actively and often aggressively denied any authority at all.

I have never seen it but I‘m tired of seeing people dismissing the harm of caricature.

MOST IMPORTANT RULE OF BEING A FEMINIST:

- You have to actually like women. You have to care about women's plight. You have to have empathy for women. Dare I say, you have to care about women more than you care about those who exploit them.

- You have to actually center the people the movement is about. You know, the ones impacted the most by misogyny and male-supremacy.

- You have to not act like the existence of conservative women is a revelation to feminists or invalidates all of feminism. Corollary of the first point, really.

The specter of the reactionary white woman was invoked to say that feminist organization was inherently, inevitably conservative, even as the threats to abortion, no-fault divorce, and women's equality and dignity itself ignored and downplayed.

So now here we fucking are, bozos.

Trans people were abandoned. Trans women were turned into a fetishistic symbol to motivate fascist hatred and buy-in. Women of color were abandoned too, with the pervasive narrative of feminism being "unable to account for race" repeated with no substantiation to solidify that abandonment.

Feminism became not just associated with, but the truest fact of, every single malignant historical force—capitalism, neoliberalism, imperialism, now fascism; feminism is blamed for all of them. Which conveniently absolves the speaker of having to oppose anything *except* feminism. 🤪

Honestly the amount of work that went into creating this beast can't be understated.

Crenshaw writing about all her students turning up to her class thinking intersectionality isn't compatible with feminism--that doesn't just *happen*. People worked hard to build that consensus.

I wanted to read about this subject for a while so I’m looking forward to it!
