New Years food prep: 3 turkey breast/roasts thrown in the smoker for a few hours. Followed by finally using my #foodsaver for the first time. What’s your favorite thing to smoke? #foodprep #smoker #smokedmeat

Gave into the sale at @barnesandnoble.com and picked up the hardbacks of the DCC series. I have some reading to do next year. 📚🤓 #booksky #books #reading

Waiting on my ortho to get my MRI results and tell me his plan for fixing me. Hoping recovery isn’t too bad and I can be back to normal by next summer. #mri #shoulder #weightlifting

Can fully recommend Dungeon Crawler Carl by Matt Dinniman @mattdinniman.bsky.social! It’s the first book I’ve read in a long while that was able to keep my interest and was hard to put down.

First cucumbers of the season taste great.
Bonus for not having to worry about whatever contamination is happening with cucumbers right now with this FDA/CDC/HHS. #cucumbers #gardening

The joys of home pool maintenance after 10 years. Spa mode was tripping the breaker. It turned out a part in the heater was leaking because it had rusted. Ended up being a simple replacement. Also fixed the filter pressure gauge. Hopefully the squirrels won’t chew on this one. #pool #diy

Continuing my goal to read more physical books, I finally finished Ready Player One. It’s different enough from the movie that you won’t be bored reading it. Now, onto the sequel.

Good. The test was about $10 with insurance.

Bookmark mostly stitched. Although I’m debating redoing the green with a brighter color. Think I’m going to skip the backstitching on the butterflies. 🪡 #crossstitch #readingrainbow

My current WIP. You can’t stare at this without hearing it if you’re over 40. 😂 #crossstitch #booksky

Finally read this one. Not much to say except that I don’t think I’ll read the sequels. It was somewhat entertaining, I guess I just don’t enjoy comedic books as much as others. It was interesting though how my inner narrator became John Cleese when reading portions of it. 😂

Forgot to post this here, it was a gift for my Mom since she has quilted and stitched for most of my life. Pattern is from Stitchrovia on Etsy.

First #sourdough loaf seems to be a success! Next time I’ll use parchment paper to avoid sticking to the pan.

I’m not sure what I’m doing yet, but I began making a sourdough starter. It’s alive!
I also finished a physical book (Parable of the Sower) for the first time in years. Unfortunately it has many parallels to our present reality.

Still like this sign I made a few years ago. How many times will we see this movie this month? 😆
