I think holding a fire sale for foreign investors, including Americans, and selling off Canada’s critical infrastructure is a bad idea and inconsistent with shoring up our sovereignty.

I think the public should *own* airports and set the terms for how they are operated.

But I don't see the govt having any particular advantage in *operating* the shopping mall and logistics hub that is an airport.

And if I had a hunch, I might expect the private sector would be pretty good at it.

And, I should clarify, I mean private *for profit* operators of the malls-airports.

The sky high fees under the current private not for profit model makes me skeptical of the status quo.

Private for profits are pretty good at *running* malls and logistics!

Just leave the asset in public hands.

Two declarations, millions of drones, a Patriot alternative without Washington, critical minerals, sovereign AI, and Ukraine's combat data. The Trump Crime family wanted it. Canada got all of it.

Last week, Smith posted on social media that “For every $1 of taxes a guest worker generates, taxpayers are covering $10 in services.”

While this figure might ring true for many, it is far from accurate.

I fact-checked Smith’s claims in my latest for @thetyee.ca
