I kinda wonder how cis people who feel comfortable abandoning trans people would feel if, theoretically, they were subject to forced transition against their will on pain of torture and potentially death by a political party? Because that's the mirror of what they expect trans people to be ok with.

Work experience placements for young / unemployed people where they gain skills and experience that can help them into the employment market are a great idea on paper but then the programmes get announced and they are ALWAYS just supermarkets grabbing cheap labour and in no way help the individuals.
All 10,000 of these "placements" are with Sainsbury's by the way and are for children aged 14+. It's just free child labour.

As I’ve said before, any serious attempt to ban conversion practices in Britain has to confront the fact that the NHS never stopped doing it. This draft bill not only fails, it explicitly gives “healthcare providers” permission to continue.
I've spent years working towards a ban on conversion practices, hoping to see a bill published. Today, I just feel so profoundly sad. As many others have noted, the draft has a carve out for "healthcare" so broad it makes a mockery of the idea this is a 'ban'. 1/2

I get the impression that some people aren't clear what this means. This is the UK state deciding to intervene directly in the healthcare of individual children, depriving them of medicine that their doctors have prescribed for their personal health & wellbeing, in defiance of global best practice.
