If not for the internet, I would never have known it happened. I never heard anybody at work, anyone I hung out with, ever mention it or bring it up.

This year marks the 40th anniversary of ALIENS. One of my favorites and in my opinion one of the top 10 sequels.

Yep. Homeowners should assume they’ll spend 1-3% of the purchase price on maintenance every year.
I like being a home owner and also it hasn't been cheap; we've been in the same place for 25 years and it's a rare year that we don't have a significant cost due to upkeep. Some years it's just, like, new carpet. Other years it's replacing all our aging windows, which cost more than some cars.
Controversial take: Owning a home is great, but it's not necessarily better for your finances.
People don't actually run the numbers before jumping - there are a lot of hidden costs. Renting can be much cheaper, & loans are structured so you build minimal equity for the first few years.

Yes, include the date in the file name. Don’t just rely on “last modified”. And please for all things good, do not use “new”, “old” or similar adjectives
I don't know who needs to hear this but when you make digital backups of important documents: name them something obvious & include dates. That makes them MUCH easier to search & find. You'll thank yourself later.
