Donato Giancola: Sure did, Ron, real fuckin' sexy just like you asked.
JRRT: What.

“It’s mind-boggling”

IS IT THOUGH????????????
Visitors to the US are on track to drop by almost two million year-on-year.

“We’re the only major country in the world losing visitation,” the head of the US Travel Association said. “It’s mind-boggling.”

Without saying your age, what is your favorite movie that came out when you were 20 years old?

(Bonus Canadian points to those who know the movie)

I'm not saying I saw Rocky Horror at a critical stage of my development... but I will say that Tim Curry made an IMPRESSION on my pre-teen self. He owned this part.

I am a secretly gay professional hockey player?! (This is going to end badly for all of us.)
Regret to inform you all I am now a private detective, a job that requires social skills, which I do not have. Anyone wanna hire a detective who is good at puzzles but bad at people? (Anyone else get assigned detective and want to be the people person and face-recognizer on a team?)

I used a leaf blower for the first time in my life today. It was fun. On principle, I don't like leaf blowers, but in practice - dang, that was handy to have.

Sometimes I answer texts in my sleep. Sometimes I read emails and dream about replying and then nearly two days later, I'm like "wait, do I have a meeting scheduled?!" and I do not, but I should, because I dreamt I replied saying that yes, we should schedule a meeting. Anyway, life is weird.

In Engish, turkeys are named after the country Turkiye. In Turkiye, they're called "Hindi" named after India. In Hindi, they're sometimes called "Peru" named after...Peru. In Peru they're called "pavo" named after peacocks.

Peacocks don't have a word for turkeys.

Yes! Where would I put all those books if I bought them? If there were no libraries, would I just have to send books to the landfill all the time?! Libraries make so much sense, which is why we've had types of libraries since ANCIENT TIMES.
I don't use public libraries bc I can't afford to buy the media I wish to read or listen to. I choose to borrow bc I don't need to own the materials, and I'm glad to have an opportunity to enjoy them outside of consumer culture. 📚

(I saw a post that implied that pl use is solely abt affordability)
