5 potatoes cubed is still 5 potatoes because potatoes are root vegetables
I was making potato and leek soup and the recipe asked for five potatoes cubed.

Even for potato soup, 125 potatoes seems a little excessive.

What a waste. And for what? It's going to be a dirt pile until the next election.
Wondering what Ontario Place looks like behind all the construction fences?

Look, we can all speculate on how the Canada-EU discussions might go.

But one thing is certain - they should sell tickets so we can watch what happens when French farmers meet Quebec dairy farmers

Email everyone who represents you about this. We can't allow flying drone ads to become a thing, this is gross.
So to summarize:
One of the largest private corporations in Canada that’s been found guilty of fixing prices, is using drones to pollute the night sky, to promote the use of an AI chatbot to disclose sensitive personal information, and is part of the privatization of the Ontario health care system.

A city survey about the waterfront excursion zone - the one that kept boats of the swimming areas (like Europe, Asia etc do with ease). Single best improvement to beaches in years. Have your say. The haters will be out.

Moneris, the Canadian system used to process 5 billion of transactions annually for 325,000 points of sale, is being sold by the owners (RBC and BMO) to a US private equity firm.

I don't think this protects Canadian digital sovereignty. I signed a petition for Ottawa to intervene, and you can too.

This is the government of Canada’s scientific finding.

It is true.

It is also a terrible message. Here’s what’s also true: 🧵

Changes to Canada's climate now 'irreversible,' federal report says
The impacts of climate change in Canada are now largely irreversible and average temperatures are expected to rise by at least 3.5 C by the end of the century, a new government report warns.

I believe, from the balls of my feet to the top of my head, that this result is entirely due to the presence of unhoused and/or people in crisis on the subway and the way in which this relatively small problem has been ginned up by Toronto haters (one of which has the temerity to want to lead us).

This (and you know, lightning) is why they have to evacuate the stands in bad weather. I stand by my "you couldn't pay me" decision.

2/ Instead of more corporate welfare, it’s time for a windfall tax on the big oil giants that are set to make $100 billion in profits this year because of Trump’s illegal war in Iran.

Infuriating. Waste of money and resources just to make everything more dangerous. It feels futile and I'm not even a cyclist.
That’s almost the entire network. It’s so much worse than we feared 😔

This is wild. The Backyard is 4ish miles per hour, until you can't/don't complete one.
PHIL GORE has left on Yard 137.
While unofficial, it's worth noting the world record for Backyards is 119 Yards/Hours.

Phil is 17 hours beyond his WR. That's 70 miles, almost three full Marathons past that previous best.

567 miles run. Stats here: 👇

I think the SCC should hear this, not necessarily because the trial court was right on section 7, but because what the Court of Appeal says here flies in the face of major s 7 cases like PHS.
"The legislature is free to legislate to remove a bicycle lane from a road – indeed, it may remove a road entirely – without implicating the Charter,,” says the Court of Appeal. Provincial government wins. coadecisions.ontariocourts.ca/coa/coa/en/i...

The ruling says the policy evidence isn't relevant, and then goes on to specifically feel it must dismiss that evidence (without any basis for that dismissal other than vibes). This is incoherent and should be appealable.
They brought in Dr. Shoshanna Saxe to testify for the pro-bike lane side. Dr. Saxe has a PhD from Cambridge, is a licensed professional engineer, and associate professor at U of T.

The judge basically throws out all of her expert testimony as being the biased, arbitrary opinions of a bike lobbyist
