Crossed a 100V NTSC-J PlayStation with 220-240V PAL mains by mistake. The instant the cord went in, the main filter cap went up in smoke. A recap fixed it, BIOS and all. Magic smoke is real, kids.

Saved a PC Engine LT from the scrap pile.
The caps had leaked everywhere. Voltage regulator was dead and the LCD bias transformer (which has no replacement part anywhere) was broken.
Subbed it with a DC-DC booster inverter. First boot, screen lit up.
