I am still (11 years later) unable to grasp how the images of little Alan Kurdi’s body washed up on a beach wasn’t the final word on treating refugees with compassion and dignity. How we are we having attacks on the RNLI for saving HUMAN lives being encouraged by our media.

I weep for our world.

As of Cabinet yesterday, one now needs the ability to communicate in order to be considered a citizen.

Yet in the first three months of 2026, not a single child in ten counties was given a plan on how the State would deliver them with speech and language therapy.

This week’s column @thejournal.ie:
Gavan Reilly: Six months by law. 24.3 months in reality. Ireland's disability numbers don't add up
The eye-watering numbers of children waiting for Assessment of Need in this country expose a broken system offering little hope to families.

Surrealing in the Years: Come on guys, we don't have it in the locker to pull off nuclear energy

Ireland must close its airspace to US military aircraft en route to fulfil military objectives in the Middle East.

How can we be confident the Government knows there is nothing of concern in the military planes overhead when they can’t even accurately count them?

Some people want a very small Ireland where we don’t criticise the powerful and we don’t annoy the neighbours and we don’t expect actual fairness and where it’s ok to have homeless children and hopeless adults. No thanks. #Áras25
