Emily Hilliard, a spokeswoman for the Department of Health and Human Services, confirmed on Wednesday that the department had not yet made a decision about whether to provide the shots through that program. Vaccines for Children provides free shots to children who are uninsured, underinsured or eligible for Medicaid, as well as to American Indian and Alaska Native children. Pediatric doses are available for children who have insurance, or whose parents can afford to pay for vaccines out of pocket.

Sakariye is one of 7 or 8 Somalis who are being held at Gitmo. They say guards tell them the order to keep Somalis at the facility comes from DC.

The Trump administration is deliberately withholding and redacting documents that legal residents need to prove their status.

Claiming they can't find the documents is bad enough. But to turn them over only after redacting them to the point that they're useless is another level of evil.

A month later, she started bleeding heavily – soaking through a new menstrual pad every 30 minutes. Chained to a hospital bed at a local ER, she was told she wasn’t pregnant anymore. Laura, 21, was in the second trimester of a high-risk pregnancy when she was sent to the Dilley detention center in Texas. Now, still detainedand approaching her third trimester, she’s experiencing persistent abdominal pain and bleeding – and says she hasn’t been allowed to see an OB-GYN. Angie, 26, learned she was pregnant a few weeks after she was booked into the Mesa Verde detention center in California. A few weeks after that, she woke up to large amounts of brown fluid excreting from her body. The medical staff at the detention center told her the miscarriage wasn’t her fault, she said.

Amnesty Int'l interviewed detainees EIGHT MONTHS AGO who said the cage was half this size (couldn't stand up), had no awning, w feet chained to the bottom.

"Everything about the way Ahmed and his fellows have been treated, from the time they were -- in Ahmed's case physically picked up off the ground when he was asking for his fear interview, invoking his rights under international and domestic law -- everything that has happened to them has been in violation of the rights that Ahmed and others and all of us grow up believing that we have," she said. She said she hoped every American would feel "deep outrage" about the way Soliman and the others sent to Equatorial Guinea were being treated and demand their elected officials uphold their rights. "This is the line," she said. "This is beyond the pale."

New from me: LAPD released video from an in-custody death that occurred in July. Jose Carlos Hoyos-Munoz appeared to be in crisis as 6 to 9 officers beat him three separate times. One officer is seen putting his knee into the back and neck of Munoz. He died 20 min later.

A Vietnamese man was beaten on the tarmac in Fort Worth when he refused to get on the plane. Another man, who was shouting, “This is not right!” and “political things” during the flight, was knocked against his seat, dragged to the back of the plane, and put into the full-body straitjacket known as “the WRAP.” Guards stood over him and laughed. He doesn’t know when the man was let out of the WRAP, but he saw that he was back in his shackles by the time they got to Ghana. (All adult passengers on ICE flights are shackled and the ankles and wrists tied to a waist chain.) Most of the guards were drinking alcohol from red and blue cups and laughing at the detainees. (Another passenger on the flight who did not want to be identified confirmed this.) If anyone stood up to use the lavatory, the guards swarmed them and shouted at them, “Get down now!” An older guard who was not drinking said this was going to be his last ICE flight, because he was going to quit. The flight medic was repeatedly summoned to check on a man from Maryland, who had gotten a concussion a few days earlier when the driver of an ICE vehicle braked suddenly. The man kept passing out. He was shaking uncontrollably and saying his head hurt. The flight medic told him there wasn’t much he could do.

Loreto Javar, a green card holder who’s lived in the United States for over three decades and is being treated for Stage 4 prostate cancer, has been held at the Northwest ICE Processing Center in Tacoma for more than two months. A 76-year-old retired hotel worker who lives in Fife with his wife and daughter, Javar was detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials June 23 during an interview for his U.S. citizenship application in Tukwila. He was receiving ongoing cancer treatment when he was taken into ICE custody, his family said, and has missed several medical appointments since his arrest.
