I implore everyone to read this brilliant book review of Kathryn Paige Harden new book on the genetics of criminality.

It cuts right through the bullshit to state plainly what Harden's project really is: eugenics bullshit and grifting

Natural Election | Los Angeles Review of Books
Kathryn Paige Harden’s new book offers a defense of a kind of Scientific Calvinism that converges with the eugenicist ideals of the contemporary Far Right.

Given that Harden has a new book out that is largely a repeat of her first book, The Genetic Lottery, here's a list of critical reviews of that book.

I suspect that the uptick in attention to AIPAC is related to its dramatic interventions in recent elections in defense of its ongoing campaign of genocide in Gaza.

Probably a combination of that and high-profile efforts by prominent Democratic politicians to combat their influence.

No, I am not, because my views on the topic are informed by research showing that anti-semitism is not a symmetrical problem on the right and left. I do not believe that Bernie Sanders is an antisemite.

Was it evidence of Russophobia for liberals to call attention to Russian influence in the US?
So you don't think there's anything concerning about the new hyperfocus on this one group by both the left and right? I want to hear your full view on this.

In the wake of the Holocaust, survivors like Adorno and Frenkel-Brunswik set out to measure anti-semitism in order to combat it. The result was The Authoritarian Personality, one of the most influential works of social psychology. This is the basis of a massive field of scholarship and activism.
"You're not allowed to talk about left antisemitism, because you can't show data to prove it" is such an obnoxious, debate-kid answer. Creeping bigotry isn't measurable the way macroeconomic trends are. A lot of people have noticed something nasty in the air lately, it's not just me.
You can't yell at people for saying that their intuitions about poverty are more important than your graphs and then insist that your intutions about antisemitism are more important than my hard data.

My friends are people like Rachel Cohen. Do you think that Rachel is an anti-semite, Will?

They aren't specialists in violence they're just dicks the government gave badges to, don't mythologize being a thug because you're scared of loud noises
It’s worth considering that an overnight dismantling of ICE in 2029 would release into the wild a whole herd of specialists in violence with scant other marketable skills.

Two main conclusions from this Fuentes-Carlson interview:

1) MAGA has tried to keep Fuentes out of mainstream circles for years—and knows it failed. The movement’s shift to increasingly radical rhetoric, especially in TPUSA circles, was in part them trying to compete for the youth’s attention. 1/n
Tucker Carlson's latest guest? White nationalist leader Nick Fuentes.

Carlson and Fuentes have been at loggerheads for years. Earlier this year, Carlson said Fuentes had an "angry gay kid thing going on."

I don't think this kind of episode would've happened prior to Charlie Kirk's death.
