If this is the same video I watched (how many recent 6 hour videos about GamerGate can there be), it wasn't even actually about GamerGate so much as a targeted history of Zoe Quinn's posting history specifically. There's maybe one sentence talking about how it was co-oped by right wing politics.
a recent 6 hour video "explaining" gamergate just came up on my youtube timeline. i just think it's so wonderful that for the rest of my life people are going to be re-litigating this thing that was soul-draining to be even in the proximity of and making it about whatever they decide it's about.

Even this isn't good enough. The entire IP is tarnished. Engaging with the brand through mockery still lends value to the brand. Even if you're getting stuff from third parties, like an Etsy bumper sticker that says "my other ride is a broomstick" in the HP font, still reinforces the IP.
The only ethical HP stuff you can buy now are the Rifftrax MP3s mocking the films since Rifftrax is an entirely independent company, riffed them years before her bigotry was known, and one of the Rifftrax guys, Bill Corbett, is the loving and supportive parent of a trans person.
