Guys, the project I'm working on has shared it's promo art w/ me.

The guy who made it is not himself an artist and has produced AI fliers before. I don't 100% trust him to tell me if this is AI, and I'm not sophisticated enough to be sure but ... it at least seems like it might be.

Is this AI?

Are people who don’t listen to modern pop country better than people who do listen to modern pop country? Yes, obviously.

Failing to consume this or that flavor of popular media doesn't somehow put you in a bubble. ffs
"Well I don't have a TV or a radio so it's not surprising I haven't heard the song"

You live in a bubble. What you're describing is a self-curated bubble. If you haven't heard the song that's been #1 on the charts for 23 weeks, you live in a bubble and you should probably be aware of that.

I am writing a murder mystery larp for 40 people. I'm on a team of four writers.

I'll be facilitating it in October as part of a fundraiser for our local gaming nonprofit.

This is my very very first foray into game design. Whee!

(srlsy, though - this has been a blast, and it's going well).

Super useful framing.

I would add that even in my fully-GMed games - where I'm scheduling, providing the venue, running the session, taking notes, etc - my players bring *so much* to the table.
I've been talking about play style preferences lately, but there's another aspect of table culture that I think is a key determining factor on whether a gaming table stays together.

Whether you're playing Cairn, Mothership, or Vampire.

TTRPG Table Alignments
A blog post where I compare a Tabletop Roleplaying Game session to having a communal meal, and why its important for everyone's expectations to be aligned.

I'm attending a meeting if my local Quail Forever branch.

They're openly mocking Trump.

This is a bunch of rural, gun-toting 70 year olds in a deep red county.

It was not unlike the response to the October 7th attacks - casual and explicit calls for genocide coupled with drastic institutional penalties for resisting those calls.

RT with your home river.

In 1990 I moved into a ranch house (on an actual ranch) in Sioux County, NE. It was extremely rural - we were about 30 miles from a paved road, 10 miles to the nearest neighbor. The Niobrara ran about 100 feet from the back door.

I was 13. It was amazing.

As you drive west through NE or KS there comes a point at which things get weird, and they stay that way more or less right through to the Rockies. But before that, I'd challenge any of you to distinguish between KS, NE, IL, or IA.
Here you are, you animals. The Twenty Correct States of America.

I was a jump-and-scare guy at a haunted house.

I remember one night we were getting into make up and there was a guy there going on about how we were part of the 1% of actors who worked professionally.
Happy labor day (USA). What's one of the oddest paid job you've had? Mine was probably as a reader for a medical professor at Rutgers, whose eyes were failing. I read him many academic texts, as well as Samuel Butler's "The Way of All Flesh."

This is important, so buckle up. This is about to be a free mini-lesson on intentional design for a gaming space.

I've said before and I'll say it again. The #PAX Intersection Space and Programs were INTENTIONAL. They were created and stewarded by people of the identities they were for.

🧵 1/9
I've seen some videos & pictures of the "new" Intersection Room at #PAXWest.

It is not even set up to be able to be navigated by mobility devices.

They kept some past signs about intersectionality despite displacing Black, Brown, & Disabled folks.

It's not intersectionality if it's not accessible

Do introverteds go around hating.on extroverts? That's terrible.

I love my extroverted friends. I admire them. I see they have strengths and skills that I lack.

I just can't keep up with them. And for the most part they honor and appreciate that.
every time someone posts something like this the comments are filled with people going "yeah fuck extroverts can you please stop yammering on incessantly i can't fucking stand you lol go away lol" and i'm somehow supposed to be not hurt by that because you think you're punching up? fuck off lmao

Nothing I hate worse than talking strategy! Real, true activists just wing it.
And yet here you are talking about THAT rather than DOING that.

Things we can always be sure of in 2026 :

- your UI isn't going to change in arbitrary and confusing ways due to software updates
- the widows manager is never going to crash, lockup, or otherwise glitch.
There's climate buttons always there at the bottom of the screen, and you can arrange the controls and other shortcuts however you want. You could make basically the whole row be just climate controls and never have to open a (one touch away) menu
